The fact that a young man married twin sisters in Solapur, Maharashtra, India has become a topic of discussion. But the legal implications of this marriage are also being debated.
Maharashtra State Commission for Women Chairperson Rupali Chakankar has directed to proceed with the legal process on this issue.
Rupali Chakankar tweeted, "A young man in Solapur has married twin sisters from Mumbai. This is an offense under section 494 of the Indian Penal Code. The matter needs to be investigated by the Solapur police and immediate legal action should be taken. Also report to the Maharashtra State Commission for Women." Act 1993 is required to be submitted immediately as per Sec.
