 The vaccine was approved by the World Health Organization some time ago.

 Dr.  Buddha Basnet, Dr.  Mila Shakya, Dr.  Nepali doctors including Diksha Pant also participated in that trial.  The vaccine was also tested in Malawi and Bangladesh.

 Dr.  Expressing happiness that the test was successful, Basnet told BBC News Nepali, "Typhoid has been bothering us a lot. In such a situation, this vaccine has been successful. This is a great achievement for the whole of South Asia."

 160,000 people die worldwide every year due to typhoid spread through contaminated food or water.
